Community and Climate Action

Norma is passionate about and committed to climate action. Soon she will add information here about climate activities and resources. More to come in 2024!

Norma is also dedicated to community service & civic duties in her adopted home town of San Francisco. She has been a NERT (Neighborhood Emergency Response Team) member since 2006. You too can learn how to prepare & get trained as a NERT member.

She has participated in Music Is Good Medicine, a unique program of UCSF Spiritual Care Services offered (2011 – 2015) the joy of music to those who need it most.

Because she shares a strong connection with animals, Norma has served as “Guinea Pig whisperer” at the Animal Connection in San Francisco since 2010.

In her “day job,” Norma works as Office Coordinator/Pet Support Info & Resource Coordinator @ the Shanti/PAWS Program, a rich and fulfilling community of like-minded people who are dedicated to compassionate community service of SF’s most vulnerable underserved residents. And a renewed dedication to Equity/Gender/Ethnic Justice via Shanti’s longtime service to others in need.

Finally, Norma is known for giving back to her community through Street Singing. In the spring and summertime she can be seen from time to time singing in front of her friend’s music store, Haight Ashbury Music.
